Answer

Access to UVA-licensed resources such as online books, journals, and search tools (e.g.UpToDate; Ovid MEDLINE) is restricted to UVA faculty, staff, and students. One method to access resources is to configure your browser to prompt you for a UVA login in order to view licensed material.

Step by Step

  1. First you must install the plug-in for your browser:
    • Firefox: right-click the following link, then select Bookmark This Link:
      Moore Access
    • Internet Explorer: right-click the following link, then select Add to Favorites...
      Moore Access
    • Safari: drag this link to your bookmarks toolbar:
      Moore Access
    • Google Chrome: drag the following to your bookmarks toolbar:
      Moore Access
    • iPhone and iPad: please see the mobile button instructions.
  2. Now, when searching the Web, navigate to the UVA-licensed resource you want to access, via Google or your search tool of choice.
  3. Click the button you installed in your toolbar.
  4. Log in via Netbadge when prompted, and access the resource.
  5. Doesn't work? View our page on other ways to access licensed resources while off-Grounds.
