The Claude Moore Health Sciences Library is centrally located in the Health System facility and connected to the West Complex (Dept. of Public Health Sciences) and the medical research buildings by raised, enclosed walkways. The library licenses over 3,344 journal titles in the basic and clinical sciences and provides access to over 112,329 electronic and print books. The library’s large collection of databases includes OVID Medline, ScienceDirect, AccessMedicine, Web of Science, UpToDate, and ClinicalKey. For interdisciplinary research, Health System affiliates have access to the entire University of Virginia online holdings, including over 1.1 million ebooks, 395,000 journals, and 1022 databases. The library serves as a biomedical information resource for the University at large, the local community, the Commonwealth through proactive outreach services, and the nation through cooperative programs with other libraries and agencies.
