The Health Sciences Library is currently open to anyone with a UVA Health ID. Limited onsite services are available 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Beginning Saturday, January 23rd, the back three rooms of the 2nd floor after hours space will be used for saliva testing. Therefore, that space will be off limits to patrons and the only Library access will be through the front doors, using the card swipe. The large study space on the second floor will remain available as will our expanded after hours space on the first floor. The HIT computers have been moved to the Library lobby. The only available printers will also be in the lobby.
What is the best way to contact the library?
Please use the Ask Us form. Librarians and subject specialistsare available for remote consultations via phone, email, or online (e.g. Zoom).
Can I reserve a study room in the 24 hours space?
Reservations for these study rooms are not available during the pandemic.
Are the Presentation Studio and audio booth available?
The Presentation Studio and the audio booth are available 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. These spaces can be reserved using the room reservation form.
Are you lending headphones, adapters, and chargers?
We are not lending shared equipment of these types during the pandemic.
Are public printers available?
Printers, both color and black & white, are available. A Cavalier Advantage machine is also available.
Can I check out a book?
Yes. Our book stacks are closed to patrons, by we are providing contactless checkout, 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. To initiate a transaction, locate the book in Virgo and then email the citation to firstname.lastname@example.org. A member of our Service Desk team will pull the book, check it out to you, and then make it available on the shelf across from the Service Desk.
