The Health Sciences Library is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM (closed Saturday and Sunday), to anyone with a UVA Health ID. (Our large 24 hours space is open to anyone with a UVA Health ID when the library is open or closed.) On-site services are limited. A mask or face covering is required at all times and social distancing must be observed.

What parts of the library are open during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm)?
The Service Desk, Lobby, 1st Floor, which includes the MILL, group study rooms, and all of the 24 hours space.
What parts of the library are open outside of business hours?
The 24 hours space is always available to anyone with a current UVA Health ID.
What is the best way to contact the library?
Please use the Ask Us form. Librarians and subject specialists are available for remote consultations via phone, email, or online (e.g. Zoom).
Can I reserve a study room in the 24 hours space?
Reservations for these study rooms are not available during the pandemic.
Can I reserve the 1st floor group study rooms?
Yes. Please use our room reservation form.
Are the Presentation Studio and audio booth available?
Yes. These spaces can be reserved using the room reservation form.
Are you lending headphones, adapters, and chargers?
We are not lending shared equipment of these types during the pandemic.
Are public printers available?
Printers, both color and black & white, are available. A Cavalier Advantage machine is also available.
Can I check out a book?
Yes. Our book stacks are closed to patrons, by we are providing contactless checkout. To initiate a transaction, locate the book in Virgo and then email the citation to email@example.com. A member of our Service Desk team will pull the book, check it out to you, and then make it available on the shelf across from the Service Desk.
Do I have to wear a mask?
Yes. For the safety of everyone, masks are required in all areas of the library.
