Reference materials are available to provide specific information contained in a few pages of text from directories, data sources, statistical sources, and other similar resources. Printed Reference materials may be copied or scanned in the Library, but in general, may not be checked out. This is to ensure the availability of reference materials for all patrons and staff who may need them.
Procedure/Guidelines for Approved Checkouts
Information Services staff may allow checkout of Reference Collection materials at their discretion. If a Reference Collection item is to be checked out by a patron, the Information Services staff person will accompany the patron with the item to the Service Desk to alert Service Desk staff that the patron has been granted permission to check out the item and the loan period if it exceeds the 2-hour limit for non-circulating items.
Questions arising concerning the feasibility of allowing checkout should be referred to Information Services staff.
