EDIT: On August 6th, 2020, UVA and UVA Health updated their masking requirement to reflect CDC recommendations: now all people, vaccinated or unvaccinated, must wear masks in all areas of UVA Health, including the Library. This sentence, published in this article on August 2nd, is no longer valid, “Fully vaccinated patrons are not required to wear masks in enclosed spaces such as study rooms, meeting rooms, and classrooms.” Instead, all Library visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks in all areas of the Library, except when actively eating or drinking, or when alone in a closed space like a study room.
Please direct questions to either Dan Wilson, Associate Director for Collections & Library Services (dtw2t@virginia.edu), or Bart Ragon, Interim Library Director (br5n@virginia.edu).

Beginning today, Monday, August 2, 2021, the UVA Health Sciences Library will no longer restrict access to Library spaces during Service Desk hours, which are currently 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

During these hours, all public spaces in the Library will be available for use, and services will be provided to all students, faculty, staff, members of the public, and patients and their families.  Beyond Service Desk hours, access to all Library space will remain badge access-only, thereby limiting access to patrons who have a current UVA Health ID badge.

Please continue to use the Ask Us form (linked from the Library’s homepage) for information and data-related questions as it allows us to connect you with the professional whose skill set best meets your needs.

As Library space will be open to everyone, all UVA Health COVID policies will be followed.  This includes the requirement that masks be worn in all common areas.  Fully vaccinated patrons are not required to wear masks in enclosed spaces such as study rooms, meeting rooms, and classrooms.
