1) Off-Grounds Access
- Option 1: Start at a library webpage, like the Health Sciences Library homepage, and click on a resource: you'll be prompted for Netbadge login and be able to access library-licensed resources
- Option 2: UVA Anywhere: UVA IT provides a "virtual private network" that, via a software install of a VPN, and login, puts your computer on the UVA network, thereby providing off-Grounds access to licensed library resources
2) Finding Books and Cross-Disciplinary Literature

3) Finding Research Articles and Protocols
- PubMed : start at the UVA link to PubMed to get "Find@UVA" links with each citation that will lead you to library subscriptions
- Web of Science : a popular UVA-licensed tool for finding cross-disciplinary literature
- A-Z list of health sciences literature databases

4) When We Don't Own It: Interlibrary Loan
- Our Interlibrary Loan system, ILLIAD, allows you to order books and articles at no charge to you
5) Citation Management Software
- Zotero or Mendeley : freely available, popular options
- EndNote : ($) Citation manager tool designed to help you manage your digital library, generate citations and bibliographies (purchase through UVA Bookstore)
- Sciwheel : (formerly F1000Workspace): user-friendly web-based citation manager available through UVA subscription to F1000
