On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, the Pandemic Planning Task Force announced that the Health Sciences Library would transition to Tier One on Monday, August 3, 2020. This decision was made by the Library’s management team, with guidance from UVA Health and the University’s Return to Grounds plan.
Below is an overview of how Library services and its environment will function during Tier 1.
Services
The Library’s staffed physical space will be open between 8:00 A.M.- 5:00 P.M., Monday-Friday. As always, the 24 Hours space remains available at all times (though a UVA Health badge is required to open the door). This will continue to serve as the only entrance to the Library.
Contactless pickup will continue; items from the collection in the Cabell Room will be pulled and circulated by the Service Desk team, with no need for Library users to interact when picking up their materials. Returned items will be quarantined based on CDC guidance
Shared equipment will not be available, with the exception of the UVA Health computers in the 24 Hours space.
Consultations will be delivered both virtually and onsite; to schedule one, fill out the Ask Us form.
Events and classes will be provided both onsite and online; please visit the Library calendar to see what’s coming up.
