From the email sent by organizer Megan Sayyad (edited by Kimberley R. Barker [HSL]):

Our next JEDI Reading Group meeting has been set for Thursday, March 2nd at 4 PMIn honor of Black History Month, we will be reading and discussing The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story (available in-print and digitally via UVA Libraries) by Nikole Hannah-Jones. There is also a new, 6-part, docu-series called "The 1619 Project" out on Hulu. You are welcome watch that in complement to the book or in place of reading it as you see fit.

This meeting is hybrid. We welcome you to join us via THIS Zoom link/Meeting ID: 927 1492 6889 and Passcode: JEDI, or in-person in Room 156 in Brown Science & Engineering Library (Clark Hall).

As always, snacks will be provided at the in-person meeting.

Please feel free to still join us for the discussion even if you cannot review the materials by the meeting time. The items we select for discussion are meant to serve as resources to launch conversation, and thus, reading/viewing the materials in advance is not necessary for participation in this group. We value your perspectives on each topic regardless.

This group is not exclusive to any one group, so please feel free to invite friends and colleagues. To learn more about the group, receive updates, and start connecting with fellow JEDI's, please join our Slack HERE. You are welcome to join the new Slack channel #1619-project to start the conversation in advance of our meeting. Please feel free to reach out to Megan Sayyad at mrs7yz@virginia.edu if you have any questions.

We look forward to chatting with you soon! Till then, happy reading!
