As part of our ongoing pandemic response, the Library will move to Tier Two of its operational plan on Monday, June 29, 2020, This means that there will be changes to certain aspects of space and services, some of which are included below:

  • The Library will be open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Services will be provided both onsite (limited) and virtually
  • The main entrance will remain exit-only, with the only entrance being the door to the 24-Hours space (for which UVA Health identification badges are required)
  • All public spaces will be open and available except for the Cabell Room, Tolleson and Carter classrooms
  • Except for HIT computers in the after hours space, shared public equipment is unavailable

  • Social distancing remains very much in place throughout the Library, with some furniture having been put in storage to assist with that practice

  • Face masks are required for both Library staff and patrons

  • Contactless checkout is still in effect

  • Items from the Cabell Room will be pulled and circulated by staff

  • Returned items will continue to be quarantined based on CDC guidelines

  • Bathrooms and elevators will limited to one occupant at a time

  • All events have been canceled and all classes are available virtually
