Virtual Reality Resources

While virtual reality isn't new technology, both recent progress in design and the lowered cost for introductory equipment have created an environment in which new users are exploring it and innovation is exploding!

Healthcare is one area of focus for development, and its applications are truly exciting. So far, virtual reality has been used to explore:

  • exposure therapy
  • simulation
  • anatomy study
  • empathy training
  • pain management
  • mindfulness
  • surgery training and preparation
  • brain training for stroke and Parkinson's sufferers
  • physical therapy
  • PTSD therapy

I've assembled a guide of (hopefully) useful resources on virtual reality, with an emphasis on its applications for healthcare, including:

  • articles
  • presentations and webinars
  • Twitter users to follow (clinicians, vendors, creators etc)

Use the vertical navigation bar on the left to find more information on each of the areas above.

I hope that this information helps you navigate the exciting landscape of virtual reality. For more information, or suggested content, contact:
