The Claude Moore Health Sciences Library is your main library at UVA. Located at 1350 Jefferson Park Avenue, the Health Sciences Library (HSL) licenses journals, books, databases, and more. While some resources are available in print, most of our resources are electronic and are available whether you’re working on Grounds or off Grounds.
As a UVA student, you also have access to the entire University of Virginia online holdings, including over 1.1 million eBooks, 395,000 journals, and 1022 databases.
The library’s staffed hours are 8 AM-5 PM Monday-Friday, but library access is available 24/7 to you with your UVA Health ID badge. Directions to the library are available here.
Our School of Nursing library guide includes links to our most-used nursing databases, tutorials on how to search specific databases and use the Zotero citation manager, and much more.
Off-Grounds Access
Our electronic library resources are licensed for your use and are available to you both on and off Grounds. When accessing from off Grounds, you’ll need to navigate to resources directly from the links on our library websites or utilize the UVA Anywhere VPN to ensure that you can access our subscription resources.
Liaison Librarian
Amanda Datesman is your School of Nursing liaison librarian. Amanda is available for virtual or in-person library consultations in support of your nursing research. You can reach her directly at SONlibrarian@virginia.edu or book an in-person or virtual appointment.
